Hydros Ölfus ehf. has registered its boreholes at Hafnarsandur and in Þorlákshöfn. These boreholes are part of an extensive monitoring project aimed at ensuring the sustainable use of the water resource in Ölfus.
The following boreholes have been registered with the National Energy Authority and assigned identification numbers:
Borteigur 1: Well VA-05 – ID 97746
Borteigur 2: Well VA-06 – ID 97747
Borteigur 3: Well VA-07 – ID 97748
Borteigur 4: Well VA-08 – ID 97749
Borteigur 6: Well VA-09 – ID 97750
The registration of the boreholes is an important step in building the monitoring system of Hydros and its partners, with the goal of collecting reliable data on groundwater and seawater intrusion in the area.
“By registering these boreholes, we ensure that the monitoring and management of the water resource is carried out professionally and transparently,” says the Hydros management.
