The drilling sites have been selected with the aim of ensuring an impact on the impact of water abstraction on treatment. This creates an overall picture that is useful for decisions about the sustainable use of water resources.
Drilling progress
Drilling of holes on drilling sites 1 and 2 is now complete and work is now turning to drilling site 3.
“The first 30 meters went quickly and smoothly,” says Hannes Örn Ólafsson, Managing Director of Vatnsborun ehf. “But then an obstacle was encountered that significantly slowed down the pace. Given the current state of affairs, it is likely that well VA-07 will be ready by the end of the week.”
